Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter, softened and slightly melted See notes for best consistency.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line 2 large baking sheets with silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add butter and sugar. Cream at highest speed for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the flour. Mix in at low speed and gradually increase speed until a thick, soft dough forms.
  • Add dough to a piping bag. Pipe swirls or desired shapes, spacing cookies 1 inch apart. Chill for 30 minutes.
  • Bake cookies for about 15-20 minutes until edges and surface turn light brown. Let cool on the cookie sheet.

Notes

Bake one sheet at a time for even browning. Dough should be thick but soft enough to pipe. If too stiff, mix in 1 tablespoon of melted butter. You can also shape into balls and flatten them for a different style.
