Fruits and Roots

  • 0.5 watermelon watermelon
  • 0.5 pineapple pineapple
  • 1 whole pomegranate or use pomegranate juice if preferred
  • 1 small lemon juice of
  • 0.25 cup grated turmeric root
  • 0.25 cup grated ginger root
  • 0.125 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or piperine extract)

Preparation Steps

  • Chop your watermelon in half. Save half for eating later or use it to make more juice and cut the other half into chunks, discarding the outside of the melon.
  • Cut your pineapple and repeat the process, cutting the fruit into chunky pieces and discarding the shell of the fruit. Add your pineapple and watermelon chunks to the blender.
  • If you are using a fresh pomegranate, then scrape the seeds into a blender. If you are using juice, simply pour a splash or two of pomegranate juice into your blender.
  • Grate your fresh turmeric root and ginger root and add to the blender.
  • Blend your watermelon, pineapple, turmeric, ginger and pomegranate seeds together. Strain the juice into a cup.
  • Squeeze the juice of your lemon(s) into your cup of juice and stir.
  • Pour into shot glasses, serve chilled and enjoy.

Notes

Top tip: for a sweeter taste, use more pineapple or a teaspoon of honey or to reduce the sweetness, add more lemon.
