  • measuring cup
  • mixing bowl
  • baking dish
  • grill

Ingredients

Marinade Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds salmon either 1 single portion or 4 (6-ounce) fillets
  • 0.25 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the salmon dry and place in a ziptop bag.
  • In a measuring cup or mixing bowl, whisk together the oil, soy sauce, honey, Dijon, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • Pour over the top of the fish.
  • Seal the bag, removing as much excess air as possible. Let marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes or refrigerate for up to 1 hour.
  • Cook the salmon by your preferred method.
  • For oven: Preheat to 400°F and bake for 11-14 minutes for fillets or 15-18 minutes for a side.
  • For grill: Cook skin-side down for 6-7 minutes, then flip for 2-4 more minutes.
  • Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. To reheat, do so gently to avoid drying out the salmon.
